August 2nd – August 6th
The Edge Little Island Terremoto Coffee
August 3rd
We arrived in NYC on late August 2nd 2021. On the morning of August 3rd we had a day packed full of activities. We took the subway that morning to catch our Edge reservations. Our reservation was at 10:30am which was a really nice time to go out and see the city. On our way we stopped at a cute cafe named Fame Gourmet Eatery. I got an incredible everything bagel with scallion cream cheese. The Edge was truly a 10/10 experience and I think it was definitely worth the money for a ticket. After the edge we explored around Hudson Yards then headed towards Little Island since it was in the general direction that we were going.
Little Island is new in New York and we really wanted to check it out for ourselves. We had planned on going to Chelsea Market after the Edge, but Little Island was on the way there so we decided to make a stop so we could fit it into our schedule and save time. Little Island was absolutely ADORABLE! We loved walking around the park and seeing the skyline of the city, and it was also just really peaceful. We headed to Chelsea Market to go around and shop, but we also decided to eat lunch there as well. We ate at a very popular taco spot Los Tacos No. 1. It is right inside the market and it has received many great reviews for being authentic Mexican and a cheap good place to eat, so we decided to try it out. They were definitely good tacos, but for being in a hot spot and were hyped up, I had expected a bit more.
Amorino Gelato Harry Potter NYC Artechouse
I am a huge coffee fan, and my mom and I love trying new cafes, so I convinced the family to go across from Chelsea Market to a coffee shop called, Terremoto Coffee. I have to say right off the bat that this might have been one of the best caramel iced lattes I have ever had in my life! I would highly recommend this cute little coffee shop if you decide to visit around the area. This day was jammed with reservations, because we had to drink our coffees quick to make it in time for our Artechouse reservation. My sister and I enjoyed this experience so much, and it felt magical to be surrounded by amazing digital art.
We had time after the reservation to do something that was a must for me the entire trip, which was the new Harry Potter NYC. The store was absolutely incredible and a must do for all Harry Potter fans. My sister was not even a huge fan and she still had an amazing time, and of course you HAVE to get Butterbeer! We decided to head back towards our hotel which was the Hilton Garden Inn in Times Square, and we grabbed dinner at a restaurant called, Hummus Kitchen. I got a falafel wrap and it was pretty decent, but definitely not a must do. For dessert we walked to a cute little place across from our hotel called, Amorino Gelato. They have the cutest gelato cones that make the gelato into the shape of a flower, and the gelato flavors were amazing.
Cha Cha Matcha Soho
August 4th
This day was more of a chill day for our trip. We started off by going to Little Italy and looking around. We of course had to get a cannoli, and the best place in NYC for cannolis is Cannoli King. They were so good! My mom and I really wanted matcha, so then we headed over to Cha Cha Matcha. I love Cha Cha and I always try to go when I am in NYC because we do not have one at home. Something I really wanted to do was go shopping in Soho, and it was around the area we were already in so we did some shopping around the area. I ended up making a huge purchase at Zara… lol. For lunch my sister and I headed over to Two Hands Seoul which might have been my favorite meal from the entire trip. This place is an absolute MUST! We both got the potato dog and it was to die for. After shopping and lunch, we headed over to Washington Square Park. It was such a beautiful day and we had an amazing time just relaxing in the park.
Washington Square Park Little Italy Pizza
My mom and I really wanted to check out Strand Bookstore which was a must for anyone that loves to read or write. It was amazing and we bought so much from the store. After a day full of shopping, we decided to head back to the hotel and look for a dinner spot. We ended up eating at Little Italy Pizza in Times Square and oh my god it was incredible. The Margherita pizza was the best Margherita pizza I had ever had. I would definitely recommend this place if you are looking to eat delicious authentic pizza. We ended the day out with a little more shopping in Times Square, and then got back to the hotel to go to bed.
Gyros at the MET Central Park The MET
August 5th
This day was definitely a busy day for our schedule. We decided to start off our day by heading over to Central Park, and The Great Lawn was super pretty plus great for Instagram photos with the skyline in the background! The MET was right beside the park so we decided to head there now, so I could get photos on the MET steps. My sister and I ate lunch at one of the food trucks in front of the MET, and we got chicken gyros. They were super delicious, cheap, and quick! Our next destination was a coffee shop I saw on TikTok that I had to try, and it was called Remi Flower & Coffee. On our way to the subway we passed a few stands of artists that were selling New York photos and art. I got 3 little prints for $10, they are super cute and are currently hanging above my bed!
We arrived at REMI Flower & Coffee, and the atmosphere was INCREDIBLE!! It doubles as a coffee shop, and a flower shop. I had already fallen in love with the entire aesthetic of this coffee shop. The drinks were also flower inspired and had the cutest designs, I ventured out and decided to try a lavender hot latte. I normally do not get hot drinks but I really wanted to get one with a design and just sip on it, so my drink came out and oh my god it was amazing. For someone who only drinks iced coffee this drink was a 10/10, and REMI is a must do if you are looking for a good coffee shop when visiting the city! We decided to head over to 5th avenue to do a little more shopping, because 5th avenue is famous for its nice shops.
REMI Flower & Coffee Union Square Park Radio City
After 5th avenue we walked through Union Square Park and then decided to start figuring out a place to eat. It was hard trying to choose a place everyone was down for, but we decided to go to Tortaria which was a Mexican place in walking distance. The restaurant had a really pretty atmosphere and the food was actually pretty cheap and delicious! I would recommend this place if you love Mexican and are on a budget. All of us decided to head back in the direction of our hotel because we wanted to walk around the Rockefeller Plaza. We were all craving dessert so we decided on Magnolia Bakery, because it had really great views. I got the red velvet cheesecake and wow it was very rich but so yummy! We went back to our hotel after dessert and called it a night. This was our last full day in the city and we got so much accomplished on our visit.
